LIST OF NATIONAL PARKS BY REGION:

Although there are currently 429 different units in the National Park System (Parks, Monuments, Nat’l Battlefields, Lakeshores & many more), the National Parks are the biggies!  To make your trip planning a little easier…and so you don’t miss them…here are the Regions you are researching, and the National Parks that are located in them.

Acadia National Park

1). New Europe

      Maine: Acadia

Shenandoah National Park

2). New England

  North Carolina: Great Smoky Mountains

  South Carolina: Congaree

 Virginia: Shenandoah

Everglades National Park

3). The Deep South

    Arkansas: Hot Springs

   Florida: Biscayne; Dry Tortugas; Everglades

Great Smoky Mountain National Park

4). Blue Grass Country

    Kentucky: Mammoth Cave

   Ohio: Cuyahoga

  Tennessee: Great Smoky Mountains

         West Virginia: New River Gorge

* If you are going to be visiting some of the National Parks, consider getting a National Parks
National Park PassportPass.  It is good for any unit in the National Park System, and pays for itself with one visit to a Park!

 

*Don’t forget to grab a National Park Passport (found at most all National Park System Units).  In it you can put stamps, dates, and memories.  ENJOY!!
